REST AND RESTORATION
Personalized, technological interventions – such as nostalgic music on headphones, tablets showing non-plot videos, and weighted blankets – help manage challenging behaviors while promoting solace, relaxation and reflection to maintain a calm, supportive environment.
OSHIBORI EXPERIENCE
A Japanese tradition using warm hand towels offered to our residents before mealtime. It’s a daily routine activity that provides a consistent reminder for mealtimes while providing aromatherapy.

Specific Therapeutic Assisted Recreation is a family-oriented program that allows our families to bring in personal reminiscent-type items to share with their family members.

WHAT IS THE COST OF MEMORY CARE?
The higher level of care and supervision in an Alzheimer’s residential care home comes at a price. On average, Personal Care costs $4,000 a month, and Personal Care with Memory Care adds another $1,000 to $4,000 a month. Costs vary state to state and are impacted by the level of care provided.
Our monthly rates start at $4,130 and are all-inclusive.
How can I decide between Personal Care and Memory Care?
Personal Care and Memory Care senior living communities provide many of the same services, including housing; meals; and help with bathing, grooming and toileting. However, Memory Care communities or neighborhoods that specialize in caring for seniors with all stages of Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of memory loss feature services and amenities that prioritize the quality of life for a person with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
In top-tier Memory Care communities, environmental security is a key design feature. To prevent wandering, many communities are equipped with locked entrances and exits, as well as keypad entries, obscured exits, and doorbells signaling entering and exiting. To avoid injuries from falls, dementia care communities feature designs that minimize confusion. In addition, they offer calming therapies in soothing spaces. This can help reduce agitation and confusion that can lead to aggression or self-injury.
The staff members in dementia care communities are also specially trained in care planning for those living with memory loss. The staff understands how to effectively prevent and manage difficult dementia behaviors. They also understand the balance of encouraging residents to stay as independent as possible while providing the support they need. Many communities, including Charter, have a higher staff-to-resident ratio than Personal Care, which allows for more one-on-one attention throughout the day.
Does Medicare cover Memory Care?
Calumet Trace’s Personal Care services start at $3,300 with additional levels of care based on what your loved one needs to successfully navigate activities of daily living.
